Muira puama is used by Amazonian peoples for the treatment of various central nervous system conditions in which free radicals are likely to be implicated.
Improved endurance to particularly stressful periods is one of the medicinal applications for muira puama. A recent preclinical study evaluating the anti-stress properties of muira puama suggested that it might possess adaptogen-like properties. The data indicated that muira puama counteracts some of the effects brought about by chronic stress.

Liquid extract in 60% ethanol. Use 10 to 40 ml weekly.
